3D World – Created in Illustrator

Business Owners | Designers

UPDATE: Apologies, but in the process of moving my site, etc, this .AI file has been lost.

The other day I was looking for a world, well a globe, for a logo. We didn’t end up using this globe, but since I made it in illustrator, I figured I would share it with you.

It can be completely customized in illustrator, including moving the continents of the world around to show whichever ones you want.

The download file is the original illustrator file, and is available to be used for all business & personal uses.

To Edit

To change which continents show on the front of the globe (this object is 3D), open the file in Illustrator, go to Windows -> Appearance, and double-click on 3D Revolved (Mapped). Simply play around with the Custom Rotation numbers until you get the continents on the world that you want.

You can also change the file used for the continents’ outline on the world. To do this, go to Windows -> Symbols and double-click on the map symbol. Replace the map outline I used with another continent outline. Now click the back arrow in the left-hand corner to go back to the main document. You can change how the continents show up on the globe by going back to Windows -> Appearance, 3D Revolved (Mapped) and clicking on Map Art.
