Design Critique: We’re Getting Married!

Designers

The “We’re getting married!” websites have been around for quite a few years now, making it easy for guests to RSVP, find gift registries, and more. But for those couples that really want the extra touch, custom designed websites have become all the rage.

These are a few of my favorite fantastically designed websites, all of which are built as one-page designs:

J & Z

Not only is J & Z’s website beautifully designed, it’s also has parallax scrolling – where portions of the site move at different speeds giving the entire site a 3D effect.

I love its elegant design and font choices. And the fact that they added a facebook like button!

Grayden & Jenny

I really like parallax¬†design, but Greyden and Jenny’s website is my favorite. They went with a clean, modern design, and check out the awesome footer!

Lucy Turner & Simon Shahriveri

Pink and grey – a little unusual for a wedding website, but beautifully designed and implemented. I personally love the colors and the “slideshow” with the names on the top is a pretty cool effect.

Rachel & Jason

I really love Rachel & Jason’s modern site design with background swirls and just a bit of inspiration from movies. Despite the beautiful fonts they used, all the text is within images – a huge no-no for regular sites, but not a big deal if you don’t care about SEO (which I’m betting they didn’t). I also really liked the links at the top floating down and the date floating on the bottom of the screen.

The only disappointing moment was at the very end of the site with the RSVP form – it wasn’t styled! With the rest of the site so beautifully done, it seems sad that it wasn’t “finished”.
